Christmas Header Recipe: Date BallsSummary: December 1 - A Cookie A Day Until Christmas!  My friend, Debi Dommer, and I were young moms once, in Naperville, Illinois. Now, we’re grandmas and we LOVE it!Ingredients 1 cup butter 1 cup sugar 1 cup chopped dates 1 egg - well beaten 1 teaspoon vanilla Dash of salt 2 cups rice krispies 1 cup chopped nuts Powdered sugar Instructions In a sauce pan, melt butter and add sugar and dates. Bring to a boil and let thicken. In a small bowl, add a small amount of the sugar/date mixture to the beaten egg, stirring vigorously. Once the egg is well incorporated, you can add a little more of the sugar/date mixture, stirring well....

Christmas Header Recipe: BUCKEYES!!Summary: November 30 - A Cookie A Day Until Christmas!  We lived in Ohio for about 13 years. I loved all my neighbors and friends and miss them terribly! You can imagine how happy I was to learn that Ohio is the “Buckeye State” and there is a glorious, little candy called “Buckeyes”! Now we live in Alabama, the Yellow Hammer state. When I met my mother-in-law, her kitchen days were behind her, but I hear good things about her skills. Christmas Header Recipe: Almond Melt-AwaysSummary: November 27 - A Cookie A Day Until Christmas!  I said, “Chad, were they yummy?”. He replied, “Oh, yes. I ate 9 of them.” Ingredients 2 cups butter 8 ounces powdered sugar 2 tablespoons sour cream 1 teaspoon vanilla ½ teaspoon almond extract ½ teaspoon salt 4 cups flour Frosting: ½ cup butter 1 pound powdered sugar 1 teaspoon almond extract 4 tablespoons of milk Instructions Powdered sugar is hard to measure accurately.
