Cajun Barbecued Shrimp

Recipe: Cajun Barbecued Shrimp

Summary: I first had this shrimp at a Christmas party, hosted by my boss. I went crazy for it and I wasn't even trying to kiss up to the boss. It quickly became another Decker boy fave and it's going to be a favorite at your house, too.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1½ tablespoons pepper
  • 2 teaspoons rosemary, crushed
  • 3 Bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon oregano
  • ½ teaspoon basil
  • 1 tablespoon hot Hungarian paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 lbs raw, tail-on shrimp (18-20 count)
  • 2 loaves French bread

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in heavy pan. Add oil. Add herbs & spices.
  2. Simmer over low heat 10 minutes. Add shrimp, cook 2 minutes.
  3. Bake at 425° oven for 10-12 minutes, turning once.
  4. Serve with French bread.
